The Art History Symposium has celebrated ACTC art history scholarship for more than a decade. Recent symposia are featured below.
2013 MIA & CAGC Graduate and Undergraduate
Art History Symposium
In 2013, CAGC partnered with the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) to organize a day-long symposium for emerging art historians in the Twin Cities.
Each participating school selected one undergraduate (plus a graduate student for those institutions with graduate art history programs) to present on an artwork or collection of works in the permanent collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts that related to their ongoing research projects.
Students from Augsburg College, Carleton College, Macalester College, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, St. Catherine University, St. Olaf College, the University of St. Thomas, and the University of Minnesota presented at MIA on April 13th, 2013.
2012 Undergraduate Art History Symposium
A new twist: in 2012 the College Art Gallery Collaborative offered the first annual ACTC Undergraduate Art History Symposium. The event featured the scholarship of five promising art history students.
Representing each of the schools in the ACTC consortium, these students shared their research and insights in the field of art history in a half-day symposium on Saturday, April 14th at St. Kate’s.
2011 Art History Symposium
The ninth annual ACTC Art History Symposium was held on Saturday, April 9, 2011. The Symposium took place from 9:30 AM to noon in the Marshall Room in Christensen Center on Augsburg’s campus. The Symposium featured presentations by ACTC faculty, fellows, and colleagues.
